Nicole Smith Named a Hometown Hero

Nicole Smith, Museum Event Planner & Conservation Educator, was recently recognized as a Hometown Hero by Visit Jackson, MS. Congratulations, Nicole on this well-deserved award!

For the past 14 years, Nicole Smith has dedicated her career to helping Mississippians and visitors connect to nature in meaningful and playful ways.

Whether she’s creating award-winning museum events like NatureFEST, facilitating teacher workshops, or caring for the museum’s animal ambassadors, Nicole’s goal is to create a culture where we speak the language of science and learning to conserve the world in which we live.

She also plays an integral role in planning and executing events like Park After Dark and the Mississippi Science Fest with the museum’s LeFleur Museum District partners.

“The Hometown Hero Awards gives us the opportunity to thank our partners for their continued support and commitment as we work together to enhance Jackson’s growing tourism industry,” said Rickey Thigpen, Visit Jackson’s President and CEO.
