Member Appreciation Night: a Mammoth-Sized Success!

Member Appreciation Night Was a Mammoth-Sized Success!

Our recent Member Appreciation Night was one for the history books - or should we say the prehistoric books! A huge thank you to our incredible MMNSF Members, Board, and volunteers, and to the Museum’s volunteers, partners, and staff for making it an unforgettable evening filled with fun, fossils, and fantastic food.

A Sneak Peek at the Mammoth Discovery
The highlight of the night? A behind-the-scenes look at the 7-foot mammoth tusk recently unearthed in Madison County, MS! The Museum’s Paleontology Curator, George Phillips, led Members on an exclusive guided tour of the Museum’s paleontology lab, where they got an up-close look at this incredible fossil and learned about its journey from discovery to preservation. Then, Members were treated to tours of all of the Museum’s research labs.

Prehistoric Fun and Games
Members also channeled their inner caveman with fun Ice Age activities, prehistoric-themed games, and a memorable "Caveman Dive" fish feeding! From mammoth trivia to the hands-on games led by the Museum’s fantastic staff, the evening was packed with ways to connect with the past.

Delicious Food & Refreshments
What’s a party without food? Members enjoyed light refreshments throughout the evening while they explored the Museum’s exhibits, including “Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors”.

Once again, thank you to all who attended and participated!

If you’re not yet a Member, now is the perfect time to join. With special benefits like these exclusive pop-up events, you won’t want to miss out on the fun. We can’t wait to see you at our next Member Appreciation Night!
