MDWFP’s Mississippi Museum of Natural Science
STAFF SPOTLIGHT: CHUCK JEFFCOAT
House Keeping Assistant and sports fan extraordinaire
Chances are great that you’ve already met this month’s Staff Spotlight star if you’ve visited the museum in the last 22 years! Please read on to hear more about Chuck and what his co-workers think about working with this amazing person.
CHUCK’S AN AWESOME MUSEUM AMBASSADOR:
“Chuck has been an important part of the science museum family since his first day with us. He has a genuine interest in people, and his memory for faces and names is almost unbelievable. From the beginning, he seemed to know everyone who walked through our door.
Chuck and I were friends before either of us worked at the museum. We met at Smith Wills Stadium as Jackson Generals’ fans many years ago. Even if we did not work together now, we would still be friends. Chuck is just a totally unique and very special person.”
– Charles Knight, Museum Director
CHUCK’S FUN TO WORK WITH:
“On Fridays, Chuck announces what games he will attend over the weekend and finds out what games his co-workers plan to watch. Then he expects a report from us on Monday.”
– Harold Garner, Maintenance Director
CHUCK’S A GREAT TEAM MEMBER AND FRIEND:
“Chuck is always ready with a smile and a helping hand.”
– James Hill, Aquarium Biologist
“Chuck always exhibits a pleasant attitude. If I’m not smiling while walking down the hallway, he makes it his mission to get me to smile. I really appreciate that, and I’m glad that Chuck is a part of the museum team.”
– Candace Davis, Visitor Services Manager
In 2015, the Rankin Record covered Chuck’s 20 year anniversary at the museum. Read the touching article at goo.gl/nbmbGt.
